The Network Manager is mostly responsible for the analysis of network congestion and exterior design thereof.

Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  • Manages the access network of distribution and provisioning, identifying the congestions.
  • Responsible to track budget results.
  • Triggers timely access provisioning projects in his territory to meet the dates required by our internal and external customers. These projects typically consist of construction of underground and/or air-laying structures, copper cables, fiber optic and associated equipments, digital remote terminals, etc..
  • Plans and manage workload identified by the Access Network Projects Control Center. Estimate costs associated with projects and collaborate in the achievement of service indicators
  • Manages relationships with third parties: Hydro-Québec, cable companies, developers, municipalities’ representatives, the Transport Ministry and others.
  • Maintains his competencies in Network Management and follow the evolution of technology and the job.
  • Manages and engage in various projects within and outside the team as working committees on quality, processes and organization of the work and team.
  • Analyses the present and future customers’ needs and choose the appropriate equipments and installations.
  • Develops work plans for the establishment and improvement of the access network for small-scale projects.
  • Manages project designs by priority.
  • Manages production teams in order to meet service and costs objectives.
  • Ensures performance management for employees under his supervision.

Essential skills / Competencies:

  • Knowledge of the Access Network and Technologies.
  • Basic knowledge in project management.
  • Ability to manage several issues at the same time.
  • Have a good analytical mind, a good judgment and be responsible.
  • Seek solutions.
  • Have a sense of organization, planning and the ability to manage stress.
  • Have good interpersonal skills, customer orientation and a very good team spirit.
  • Have good oral and written communication.
  • Have experience with unionized staff.
  • Basic knowledge of the MS Office suite.

Preferred skills / Competencies:

  • High capacity to cope with change
  • Some knowledge of technical design norms for the Access Network.
  • Bilingual
  • Experience in the provisioning team
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Knowledge of voice and data networks and of broadband services.
  • Experience with contract management with suppliers and third parties.
  • Knowledge of Access Network softwares : NetWork X, SIMPAS, PAIRE and others.
  • Knowledge of the Bell/ Hydro Quebec, cable companies, MTQ contracts
  • Knowledge of investment guidelines for the Access Network.
