Job Purpose & Scope:
- The Fluids Engineer provides on-site technical support for fluids and ensures engineering plans, procedures and specifications and QA/QC guidelines are applied.
- He coordinates the work of the rig- site Fluid Technicians in the Operations Support Group
- Prepares fluids materials requirements on a well-to-well basis and coordinates material transfers.
- Coordinates, reviews and approves work done at the Fluids Lab on fluid samples analysis.
- Advises Operations Support Team Leader on competency requirements covering fluids technology, for Fluids Technicians and Fluids Lab Technicians.
- Provides technical and operational input to proposed drilling and completion fluids programs if requested
Minimum Requirements:
- Completion of secondary education (12 years) plus computer courses.
- Degree in relevant discipline such as Engineering or Chemistry.
- Minimum five years experience and knowledge of drilling and completions/workovers fluids operations.
- Minimum three years experience in offshore work related to drilling, completion and workover activities (Desired).
- Computing skills including MS Office.
- Knowledge of Drilling Information Management System (DIMS).
- Leadership training.
- Safety training.
- Same base skills as Drilling and Completions / Workover Supervisors (Desired).
- Specialized skills including:
o Advanced Fluids Technology
o Solids Control Equipment
o Fluids Testing Standards and Methodology
