Production Support Specialist - Global Markets
Purpose of the job:
This role is to provide IT application/system support for the Global Markets (ie Treasury) business areas. The main purpose of the role is to monitor and support business applications as well as action user requests/problems.
Responsible For:
The successful candidate will undertake in the following;
• Provide 1st level front line support for the Treasury Department mainly the Front Office but providing some coverage of Back office functions at times
• Monitor production systems and proactively work to ensure high production availability
• Ensure all problem calls are logged and resolved
• Be able to provide incident and problem management and input with broader teams doing the same
• Help develop and maintain an information repository of application support material that can be accessed by support resources
• Operate as part of a shift rota, covering the hours of 07:30 - 20:15 7 days a week
• Liaison between 2nd and 3rd line teams, as well as development and other IT infrastructure departments
• Ensure adherence to the change management regime and related company processes
• Involvement in project work as required and participate in application upgrade, configuration and patching across multiple environments
• Regular communications with an extensive client base to provide status updates, successful solutions as well as documenting all activities for future reference
• Be able manage communications/relationships with 3rd party vendors
Skills
EXPERIENCE:
• Understanding of Treasury systems and business processes across a range of asset classes
• Support experience in an investment banking FO environment
• Ability to develop strong, effective working relationships with business and technology team members and develop an understanding of their role & responsibility
COMPETENCIES:
• Willingness to take ownership for problem resolution and additional responsibilities where applicable
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with management, business users and technology team members
• Customer facing skills - to be able hold one’s own in discussions with demanding users
• Experience with trading room systems eg Murex, Reuters, Fidessa (FIX V5), Bloomberg, Calypso, BT ITS Dealer Board etc
• Process excellence - a passion to achieve results though effective organisation and process disciplines
• Experience working for a global organisation and offshore teams
• Experience managing 3rd party suppliers
• Ability to negotiate agreements and maintain effective business partnerships with peer support & operations groups
