The role requires you to be motivated with the ability to supervise and control the day to day processing of import and export documentation within strict guidelines. You must be organised, a team player, possess a high level of accuracy, commonsense and initiative.

Reporting to the Senior Trade and Supply Chain Manager your key tasks and responsibilities include:
• Initially, assisting with managing the transfer of the issuance process and subsequently fee collection from Service Delivery to Trade and Supply Chain, including contributing to reviewing, changing and developing processes.
• Ensuring efficient and effective operations of the department by monitoring the allocation of responsibilities and workflows to increase productivity and decrease costs.
• Ensuring compliance with group and local operating policies and procedures.
• Checking and authorisation of all types of guarantees and standby letters of credit within delegated parameters.
• Liaising with Legal, Compliance, customers and Relationship Managers to facilitate the structuring, appropriate approval and issuance of standby letters of credit and guarantees.
• Building and maintaining relationships with the high-value customer base.
• Providing technical support and assistance to external customers and RM’s in structuring transactions.
• Building the skills of your team through training and mentoring.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
• A minimum of 5 years experience in trade middle office/operations role.
• Sound knowledge of UCP600, URR525 and ISP98 and preferably URDG.
• Experience in issuing standby letters of credit and/or guarantees.
• Ability to apply technical knowledge and experience to solve problems and implement solutions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• To be highly motivated, proactive and flexible.
• An eye for detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• The ability to work as part of a busy team.
